Recycling for Charity

Anyway, there I was having a sort out at home and after bagging lots of clothes to go to numerous charities shops, there were some clothes that I thought I could do a little more with.  So thought about the concept of 'recycling for charity' and how I could maybe raise some money.  So, I decided to take some of my pre-loved dresses into the office for others to have in exchange for a donation to 'My Cancer My Choices'.  The idea itself went down so well in the office and station, that everyone has said we should make it an annual event where everyone brings their pre-loved dresses in.  So as well as our 'McMillan coffee morning' we hold every year we will now be looking at holding a 'My Cancer My Choices recycling for charity' day.

When I had chemotherapy for bowel Cancer I got hot flushes. The acupuncture I received almost completely alleviated them. I also had neuropathy in my hands and feet, which improved dramatically over time, with acupuncture treatments. I also received reflexology whilst having chemotherapy and it really helped me to relax and unwind from all the stresses which having Cancer can bring.

Margaret (center), treated at Bracknell Healthspace
What a pleasure to have met the lovely team who are `my cancer my choices` ...I only wish I had discovered their services sooner!

After nearly six months of chemotherapy and now awaiting a few weeks of radiotherapy, I have recently been able to relax and enjoy both acupuncture and gentle massage under the therapists very capable hands. Both these therapies have helped restore my energy and equilibrium and I believe everybody with cancer can benefit from such treatments.

At last, some precious time for me such a treat!

Thankyou to you all.
Treatment is a morale booster, I feel like a 67 year old spring chicken!
